In another erratic move by Nintendo, the New 3DS production has been discontinued – this isn’t to say it wasn’t the right move. The 2DS, New 2DS XL (announced earlier this week) and New 3DS XL will continue on for the time being. I’m convinced that Nintendo’s promise of keep the handheld ecosystem alive in the face of the Nintendo Switch’s success is faltering as the product innovation seems non-existent with the newest renditions of the handheld gaming market.
The New 2DS XL is releasing in North America at a price tag of $150. Something tells me that it won’t have the same supply and demand issues as the Switch currently.
